Worm Farm Experience

Fun fact! Did you know that the European settlers introduced earthworms to the US? And since then, earthworms have completely changed North American forests for the better.

Day 1- We put the kit together, added dark soil and found 5 to 6 worms to add to our farm. They instantly started creating paths to get out of the light. We then hid them behind light blocking sides that the kit came with. 
Day 2- We could visually see the red and yellow sand line being broken by the worm tunnels. It was time to add leaves to their habbitat. The worms will pull the leaves int o their tunnels to share their food with others. Did you know that an earthworms poop contains lots of nitrogen which is a great source for plant growth?
