My plan for this blog is to provide you with useful topics and free printables for your literacy program. But today I am going to veer off topic and try to put into words how thankful I am at this very moment.
Yesterday I got "that call". The one you hope you will never receive. It was from a dear friend and her words struck me straight in the heart. Her husband was missing. He hadn't been seen since Monday. She is frantic. They found his car, keys and cell phone but he just disappeared. I could hear the panic in her voice. My heart stopped. These are friends I have known since my son was in high school. We were all band parents together some 15 years ago. We were (and still are) a tight group.
I have a love/hate relationship with my social media pages. But last night it became a life line. With the help of another close friend, we were able to organize a search team through our social media. An entire group of people came together through a single post!
We met early this morning and combed the area he was last seen. We spent hours in high brush, trees, rocks and rain calling for him. We put up flyers, someone had a search dog...it was an amazing outpouring of love for this man.
Just as we finished and were heading home to dry off we got the news....HE HAD BEEN FOUND!
He is alive and safe! I am still struggling to put into words how thankful I am.
But I will go home tonight and call my kids, hug my husband and be so thankful!
